What is Career1?
Career1 is an AI recruiting engine for hiring teams. A company posts a role and every person who applies is interviewed by voice, in the browser, at whatever hour suits them. The interview is grounded in the job description and the candidate's own resume, and it follows up when an answer is thin. Afterwards the recruiter gets a ranked shortlist: a match score, the strengths the interview verified, the risks, a hire recommendation, and the full transcript and video behind every claim.
The short version: it does the first round, so a human does the rounds that matter.
Why we built it
Screening two hundred applications properly is about thirteen hours of reading. It never gets thirteen hours. In practice someone reads the first forty and stops, which means the decision about who to interview is mostly a decision about who applied early and formatted their resume well.
That is bad for the company, which misses people, and worse for the candidate, who is rejected by a process that never heard them speak. The fix is not a better filter on the same document. It is talking to everyone, which is only possible if the first conversation does not need a human calendar.
How does the AI interview work?
-
1
The candidate opens a link
No account required to start, no software to install, no time to book. It runs in a normal browser on a laptop or a phone with a microphone.
-
2
It has a conversation
Questions come from the role and from what the candidate wrote about themselves, so nobody gets a generic script. When an answer stays vague, it asks the obvious follow-up, which is where rehearsed experience runs out. It takes about eight minutes.

The report carries its own evidence
The score arrives with the transcript and the recording attached. A recruiter who disagrees with a conclusion can check it in ninety seconds rather than taking a number on trust.
Who is Career1 for?
Hiring teams
Small teams without a recruiting function, and teams that get more applications than they can read. You post the role, we interview everyone, you read a shortlist.
How it works for companiesCandidates
Get vetted once and carry the result, instead of proving yourself from scratch to every company. You keep your own scored report whatever happens next.
Get vetted freeIs it fair to candidates?
This is the question we get asked most, and it deserves a direct answer rather than reassurance. Every applicant for a role gets the same structured interview, scored against the same criteria, regardless of when they applied or who was on rota that week. Nobody's application is discarded unread. There is no scheduling pressure and no interviewer having a bad afternoon.
The safeguard that matters is that the recruiter sees the transcript and the recording, not just a number. A score you cannot inspect is a score you cannot argue with, and we think a candidate should be able to be argued for. Candidates also see their own report, which is more than most rejections offer.
Career1 does not make the hiring decision. It does the first pass and shows its working. Who advances, who gets hired and what they are offered stays with the people doing the hiring.
What Career1 does not do
- It does not handle payroll. Whatever a company pays the people it hires happens between them. Career1 bills companies for a subscription and nothing else.
- It never charges candidates. Not for the interview, not for a profile, not for being matched. If a hiring platform asks you for money, that is the warning sign.
- It does not replace your judgement. It removes the first pass nobody has time to do well. Every decision after that is yours, made with better evidence.
