AI interviewer

An AI interviewer that asks the second question

Anyone can script five questions. What makes an interview is the follow-up: what broke, what you would change. Career1's AI interviewer listens to the answer and asks it, for every applicant, at whatever hour they apply.

Why the first-round interview is the bottleneck

Screening calls do not scale

A recruiter can hold perhaps eight screening calls a day. A role with two hundred applicants is a month of calendar, so most applicants are never spoken to at all.

Scripted questions reward rehearsal

A fixed list gets fixed answers. Candidates who read the same prep guide sound identical, and nobody asks the question that would separate them.

A screener's notes are not evidence

What reaches the hiring manager after a phone screen is one person's summary. Nobody else can check what was actually said.

How Career1 does it

  1. 01

    Post the role

Type a job title and Career1 drafts the description, or dictate it, or upload the JD you already have. You choose what the application form asks for — phone, city, and any screening questions of your own.

  2. 02

    Everyone gets interviewed

Every applicant, not a filtered subset, gets a link to a spoken interview they can take at 2am on a phone. It asks about their actual experience, follows up when an answer is thin, and runs about eight minutes.

  3. 03

    Read a ranked shortlist

You get a match score, the verified strengths, the risks, a hire recommendation, and the full transcript and video behind every claim. The evidence ships with the score, so you can check the reasoning instead of trusting it.

What the AI interviewer does in the conversation

Grounds its questions in the résumé
It asks about the projects and roles the candidate actually listed, not a generic bank, so the interview is about them.
Follows up when an answer is thin
A vague answer gets a second question, about what they built or what went wrong, which is where rehearsed answers run out.
Fits in eight minutes
Spoken in the browser on a laptop or a phone, with nothing to install and nobody to schedule.
Leaves a record you can check
Every interview keeps its transcript and recording next to the score, so anyone can hear the answer behind a rating.

Questions people ask

What is an AI interviewer?

An AI interviewer is software that conducts a job interview in place of a human interviewer. Career1's holds a spoken conversation in the browser: it asks questions built from the job and the candidate's résumé, follows up on the answers, and produces a scored report with the transcript and recording.

Can an AI interviewer replace a first-round phone screen?

For most roles, yes. It covers what a screen is for: whether the experience on the résumé is real and whether the person can explain it clearly. Later rounds, and the hiring decision, stay with your team.

Is an AI interviewer fair to candidates?

Every applicant gets the same length of interview, questions about their own experience, and a time that suits them rather than a recruiter's free slot. Your team can play the recording behind any score, so a decision can be checked against what was said.
